Through networking, the Fundació Girona Est and other collaborators have created a space where tradition and contemporaneity coexist.

FRISELVA was present at the 1st Evening held as part of World Mental Health Day by the Drissa Foundation. The event marked the foundation’s 25th anniversary while celebrating the work accomplished together with the business community, looking back on and acknowledging the progress made, and sharing one of the major challenges facing business organizations: improving the well-being of all employees with the greatest possible chances of success.

The Drissa Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with mental health conditions through employment integration, raising awareness of its importance, and continuously fighting the social stigma that still exists.

ANUGA 2023, the most important trade fair in Europe, came to a close last week.

FRISELVA S.A. was present at this highly anticipated event, with the aim of boosting its international business activity in the pork sector and enhancing its visibility. At the same time, we sought to highlight the quality of our production and the strength of our export operations, factors that guarantee a continuous supply of products of the highest safety and quality.

This week, with INNOVACC, we carried out a benchmarking trip to Denmark to learn about the innovative technology ecosystem for livestock farming and the meat industry in this pioneering country.

During the trip to Denmark, visits were organised to various leading companies in digitalisation and the meat industry:

Danish Agriculture and Food Council, Danish Technological Institute, Food&Bio Cluster Denmark, Universal Robots.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE OZONE LAYER

The ozone layer is a highly fragile band of gas that protects life on the planet from the harmful effects of the sun’s rays, and it is under threat due to the use of certain chemical products over many years.

Saturday, September 16 marks the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. Thanks to our commitment to the environment, we want to help preserve this important layer of the planet. To this end, we carry out various actions to protect the environment:

-We are committed to green energy, with 6,000 m2 of solar panels.
-FRISELVA is the first company in the group to obtain AENOR’s zero waste certification.
-Our packaging contains recycled material
-Caring for our relationship with the planet is an investment in our customers’ future

On August 31st, FRISELVA attended the presentation of HIGH SEASON 2023, due to its sponsorship relationship. The event took place at the Teatre Municipal de Girona, an occasion to unveil the offerings of this upcoming new edition.

With our commitment to society, we support Girona-based organizations to promote and foster culture.

The Spanish livestock and meat sector is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and seeks to improve sustainability in its processes.

It focuses on reducing ammonia emissions by 47% and methane by 54% in the pork sector, as well as saving 30% water in meat production.
The industry has also implemented eco-design for packaging, saving materials and reducing 111,145 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Livestock farming contributes to the circular economy by utilizing vegetable by-products for animal feed and provides valuable ecological services, such as biodiversity conservation and environmental regulation.

Furthermore, the livestock and meat supply chain is vital for the economy, employing over 2.5 million people and helping to maintain rural life and prevent depopulation in at-risk areas.

FRISELVA attended the Fórum Carlemany Gala 2023 last Thursday, July 6, at the Sant Gregori Castle, a very special edition marking its 20th anniversary.

The event served as a portrait of the present and a look toward the future, outlining short and medium-term objectives.

Individuals who had been awarded “Honorary Member” and the “Falcó Carlemany” in previous years received a tribute.

On June 26, we attended the second edition of Business Day, an event dedicated to recognizing companies that contribute positively to Catalan society through economic, social, and environmental impact.

The ceremony was held at the Palau de la Música Catalana and was presided over by the Most Hon. Mr. Pere Aragonès i Garcia, President of the Government of Catalonia.

FRISELVA attended the 26th edition of the IESE Food & Beverage on June 13. This event brought together a significant portion of the food industry in Barcelona, where it became clear, on the one hand, that one of the industry’s major current concerns is excessive regulation, and on the other, that the pork sector remains, despite everything, one of this economy’s primary drivers.

FRISELVA was present, alongside Interporc, at China’s most important food sector event, SIAL SHANGHAI 2023.
