INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE OZONE LAYER

The ozone layer is a highly fragile band of gas that protects life on the planet from the harmful effects of the sun’s rays, and it is under threat due to the use of certain chemical products over many years.

Saturday, September 16 marks the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. Thanks to our commitment to the environment, we want to help preserve this important layer of the planet. To this end, we carry out various actions to protect the environment:

-We are committed to green energy, with 6,000 m2 of solar panels.
-FRISELVA is the first company in the group to obtain AENOR’s zero waste certification.
-Our packaging contains recycled material
-Caring for our relationship with the planet is an investment in our customers’ future

Valorisation of low-commercial-value proteins from pig slaughterhouse by- and co-products

The overall objective of the project is to obtain proteins from low-commercial-value pig organs which, due to their functional properties and high nutritional value, are useful as ingredients in the food industry.

The project objectives are:

• Optimise the technique that makes it possible to separate the protein fractions while also removing the off-flavour characteristic of offal.

• Characterise the protein fractions: stability, chemical composition and technological functionality

• Determine the optimal conditions for forming an extract rich in Zn-protoporphyrin (ZnPP) for use as a food pigment.

• Apply enzymatic technologies, high hydrostatic pressure and extrusion to improve protein functionality and develop protein texturisers with applications as ingredients with nutritional value and technological function for meat products

• Develop meat products including the above ingredients

• Determine consumer attitudes

Project funded through Operation 16:01:01 (cooperation for innovation) of the Catalonia RDP 2014-2020.

WE STRENGTHEN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GIRONA FC

Friselva and Girona FC have reached an agreement to renew and extend the sponsorship launched last season. The major new development this year is the inclusion of the Friselva brand on the back of the shirt of all Girona FC women’s teams.

FRISELVA COLLABORATES WITH THE QUINA OF RIUDELLOTS DE LA SELVA

Once again, Friselva has collaborated with the Quina of Riudellots de la Selva, and this year’s edition has been a great success.

The proceeds raised at the Quina are allocated both to La Marató de TV3 and to the Som Sostre association, which helps people experiencing homelessness, as well as to subsidise various activities to be held in the town for children with financial difficulties.
